On June 18 Mr. Putin visited the Komatsu plant in Yaroslavl.

The workshop of assembly-line production, acquainted with control systems of orders were showed to the head of the Russian government.

The company directors described to premier that this is the first plant in Russian Federation territory, which is the largest assembly factory in the world.

Mr. Putin talked with the factory workers, and also climbed into cab in one of excavators, where the work of technology was demonstrated to him.

Answering to journalist’s questions concerning collaboration with Komatsu, Mr. Putin, in particular, noted:

“Komatsu company works with us from 1960, still from Soviet Union times, and recommended itself very well. I would especially note that our Japanese colleagues conducted the factory construction work within the record short times - year and three months. And this was made in conditions of world global economic crisis, under the fairly complicated conditions, in which economy of Japan and the economy of Russia worked previous year. Nevertheless that was made and made at high level.

But correctness consists also in the fact that we constantly think above the fact in order to increase import customs duties by the finished production and to decrease them by those completing. Now we have import customs duty to the finished production - 5%, let us say on similar tracked vehicles, and on spare parts - 5 and more percentages.

But we think above the fact, how to change this. Gradually, without bringing damage to assembly-line productions of course. But as a whole the logic of our actions must be such kind of. And in this sense those, who are based today on the Russian market and begins his own production undoubtedly they will prove to be in the more advantageous position”.

The excavator miniature model was presented to the head of RF government Mr. V. Putin in the end of excursion along the Komatsu factory.
