One of the Komatsu company postulates is the concern about its clients. Therefore the concern specialists are directed toward to a constant generation of the solutions not only for the simple and the convenient machinery use, but also its long-lived service in the operation field.

From April 2008 Komatsu CIS, LLC company began the dual bushing tracktrial operation on D275A-5D bulldozer base with -50C specification. Tests were carried out in Khanty Mansiysk region (500km from Surgut) on the bulldozer belonging to the most important Komatsu customer “Surgutneftegaz”.

Such machinery was selected not randomly. Bulldozers work in the severe conditions with very “complex” highly-abrasive soil. West Siberia is especially characterized by cold climate and difficult operating conditions. Therefore a load and wear of undercarriage, with the work under similar conditions, is considerably more intensively in comparison with other regions.

The Komatsu specialists work constantly on the machinery effectiveness increase, improving machines in such way that their owners wouldn’t have any difficulties, and expenditures on the replacement of one or other part were lowered to the minimum.

It is known that the expenditures for undercarriage are most expensive among other to the maintenance for any bulldozer. Komatsu engineers approached this problem structurally and found the solution, after developing the fundamentally new type of track chain. Instead of single, on the trial operational model D275A-5D was established dual bushing, in this case its external part has the capability of free running. During the bulldozer motion, the external part of the bushing revolves, coming into contact with the teeth of the drive sprocket whereas (traditional bushing with the contact does not revolve).

In spite of that the trial operation is not yet finished, even now it is possible to establish that the period of the service of new track chain will be three or more times longer in comparison with the traditional track chain.

According to the tests results in America, the track chain with the dual bushing served 5 times more, in comparison with the usual, the single (!).

Now the dual bushing track developed for D275A and D375A bulldozers with -50C temperature specification. However, based on customer request, its production is possible under the specified climatic conditions in which the machinery has to work.
